However, he cheekily admitted it might not arrive quite as soon.

“Maybe not 2024, but definitely 2025 we’ll have something for you. And I say that and then it doesn’t happen. We go in the studio next month to work on some new stuff and hopefully, we’ll get it out by 2025. I could be lying. I could be lying to you and it could be later. So, who knows?”

Another exciting revelation was the confirmation of a Living Colour documentary in the works, with comedian and filmmaker W. The song’s scathing indictment of political figures continues to resonate, with Glover citing its use in everything from video games to political commentary.

“I think if it weren’t for that song, I’d be working for UPS,” he humorously remarked. “How about that? It has a weird sort of continuing life that I am very happy and very grateful that it exists.”

Notably, Vivid – the album the track comes from – made history as the first record by an all-black rock band to clinch a Grammy for “Best Hard Rock Performance,” while the video for “Glamour Boys” set a precedent by being the first closed-captioned music video for the hearing impaired.

Glover‘s new project Sonic Universe will release its debut album, It Is What It Is, on May 10 via earMUSIC.
