A woman who claimed Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/strong><\/a> shot her in the face in an infamous 1999 New York City nightclub shooting said she thanked God after learning of the rap mogul\u2019s arrest<\/a> on Monday, September 16.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Are you kidding me, really?\u2019 [My daughter] said, \u2018Yes!\u2019 I just screamed out to God, \u2018Thank you, merciful father!\u2019\u201d Natania Reuben<\/strong> told The Daily Beast<\/a> in an interview published on Wednesday, September 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the best days ever,\u201d Reuben added to the outlet.<\/p>\n

Reuben maintains that Diddy, 54, pulled the trigger on the gun that injured her in December 1999 at Club New York in Manhattan, where Diddy attended a party with then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez<\/strong><\/a> when a fight broke out. Diddy denied any involvement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCelebrities are weighing in following the recent arrest of Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs. The music mogul was taken into custody in New York on September 16. The following day, a 14-page indictment alleging that Diddy \u201cabused, threatened and coerced women and others around him\u201d was made public. The rapper has since entered a not guilty plea [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cUnder no circumstances whatsoever did I have anything to do with a shooting. I do not own a gun nor did I have possession of a gun that night. I had nothing to do with a shooting in this club,\u201d he said<\/a> at a press conference at the time.<\/p>\n

Diddy was acquitted of all charges in 2001. His associate, Moses \u201cShyne\u201d Barrow<\/strong><\/a>, was convicted in connection with the shooting and served nine years in prison.<\/p>\n

Reuben feels she never got the justice she deserved during the 2001 trial, but is hopeful that Diddy\u2019s recent indictment<\/a> on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering will stick. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Combs] was somebody with power, prestige, fame, money, and all of that,\u201d Reuben said. \u201cIt was the biblical David and Goliath story. I know my sling and my stone might be 25 years old, but\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Diddy faced no criminal charges, in 2011, he settled a multimillion-dollar civil lawsuit brought against him by Reuben and two other victims in the 1999 shooting, per Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Barrow, Diddy\u2019s former prot\u00e9g\u00e9 who was sentenced over the shooting, recently spoke out about his former Bad Boy Records boss\u2019 arrest, claiming Diddy \u201cdestroyed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was an 18-year-old kid, just wanting to do nothing other than make my mother proud and make Belize proud and \u2026 be recognized for my talent and take over the world. I was defending him and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me. He pretty much sent me to prison,\u201d Shyne alleged of Diddy during a recent news conference in his native Belize.<\/p>\n

At the time of Shyne\u2019s sentencing, Diddy said<\/a> in a statement, \u201cShyne\u2019s sentence is unfair and extreme as I know he had no intention of hurting anyone. My prayers are with him and his family. I\u2019m shocked by today\u2019s outcome. I will continue to support Shyne throughout his appeal.\u201d<\/p>\n

An indictment unsealed on Tuesday, September 17, alleged that Diddy<\/a> \u201cabused, threatened and coerced women and others around him.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the indictment, \u201cto do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources and influence of the multifaceted business empire that he led and controlled \u2014 creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n
