Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong> has had one hell of a week. To recap, vocalist Perry Farrell<\/strong> assaulted guitarist Dave Navarro<\/strong> on stage<\/a> in the middle of a show on September 13 at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, MA. According to video footage, Farrell<\/strong> walked over to Navarro<\/strong> and aggressively bumped him with his shoulder, got up in Navarro<\/strong>‘s face right afterward, and even threw a punch before a roadie and Avery<\/strong> broke it up.<\/p>\n Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong> then issued an apology for the on-stage incident<\/a> and cancelled their September 15 show in Bridgeport, CT. One day later, Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong> went on hiatus and cancelled the remainder of their tour dates<\/a>. A statement from Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong> said the band “made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group,” while a statement from Navarro<\/strong>, Perkins<\/strong>, and Avery<\/strong> cited “a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n Farrell<\/strong> issued his own statement shortly thereafter, saying in part it’s “only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro<\/strong>, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”<\/p>\n Then a few days after all that, a new song called “True Love” got released on all streaming services. Navarro<\/strong> has since commented on the single and the future of Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>, lamenting the fact that it’s likely they’ll never play together again.<\/p>\n “New Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong> track released today, True Love,” said Navarro<\/strong>. “I am proud of the work we did on this song but I am equally saddened by the fact that you will likely never hear it live. I\u2019d also like to publicly apologize to our crew, Crawlers<\/strong> and their crew and to Love And Rockets<\/strong> and their crew. Thanks for being our travel companions for as long as you did. I am gutted that things ended this way and that so many jobs were lost as a result. May all of our hearts mend together.”<\/p>\n So yeah, don’t hold your breath for another Jane’s Addiction<\/a><\/strong> reunion.<\/p>\n \n
