Whether or not System of a Down<\/a> <\/strong>is a n\u00fc metal band is a constant topic of discussion in comments sections across the internet and this article will be no different. In a new interview with Revolver<\/a><\/em>, Tankian<\/strong> was asked to name his favorite n\u00fc metal album of all time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna have to say Korn<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s first record,\u201d the singer offered, \u201cbecause it seems like that was the time that the term \u2018nu metal\u2019 was created. I actually think people don\u2019t think of System Of A Down<\/a><\/strong> as nu metal. But Korn<\/a><\/strong>, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Korn<\/a><\/strong>‘s self-titled album was released in 1994; the landmark release is widely considered to be the first n\u00fc metal album and Tankian <\/strong>is certainly not alone in his feeling that Korn <\/em>is the the high water mark for the genre. <\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, Tankian<\/strong> discussed the best and worst songs he’s written\u2014as well as the one he’s most proud of\u2014, his greatest achievements, worst show and embarrassing on-stage moments.<\/p>\n

The singer also discussed his biggest unrealized dreams in the industry:<\/p>\n

“Most of what I\u2019ve achieved I only partially dreamed up. I come up with new things that I want to achieve all the time, but there\u2019s no long-term vision that I haven\u2019t already brought into reality. I come up with new things to bring into reality to keep me on my toes and keep me interested. But I can\u2019t say, \u201cI would\u2019ve loved to write a song with this person,\u201d or anything like that.<\/p>\n

Wait, OK\u2026 Here\u2019s one: I\u2019ve scored movies and TV shows, but I haven\u2019t scored a blockbuster \u2014 whatever that means. That\u2019d be fun to do.”\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
