The Real Housewives of New York City<\/em><\/a> star Brynn Whitfield<\/strong><\/a> detailed her harrowing sexual assault for the first time \u2014 revealing that she still comes face-to-face with her alleged assailant, who she has never publicly named or directly accused.<\/p>\n

\u201c[In] my 30s, I had so many problems, things on my mind,\u201d Brynn, 37, told People<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, December 3. \u201cThere\u2019s all these things I had in my head. I\u2019m privileged, but sexual assault wasn\u2019t one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recalled being sexually assaulted by an unnamed man who was described as someone in the New York City social scene that had been \u201ccourting\u201d her. Brynn noted that she felt like a \u201cshell of myself\u201d after the incident<\/a> \u2014 and didn\u2019t tell anyone for months.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just go home, and you just shower, and you just want to pretend like it didn\u2019t happen,\u201d she shared. \u201cI think my water bill probably that month was like $10,000 \u2026 and just there\u2019s not enough soap in the world [to get clean]. \u2026 You try not to put chlorine in your luxurious bathtub.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brynn noted that she was \u201cliterally numb\u201d after the incident and \u201cblamed\u201d herself for what had happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cI put on a brave face and I refuse to cause a scene. I don\u2019t like loudness. I don\u2019t like screaming or yelling because of my childhood,\u201d Brynn told People<\/em> about continuing to run into her assailant. \u201cI pick up the check and I sign. That\u2019s what I do. That\u2019s that.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also spoke candidly about what happened during Tuesday\u2019s episode of RHONY<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just felt dumb and embarrassed and blamed myself. It\u2019s like, none of this was supposed to happen to me,\u201d Brynn said in her confessional through tears. The Bravo star said that her past assault \u201crobbed\u201d her of several experiences \u2014 especially because she never told her late grandmother and avoided speaking to her.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt robbed me of ever wanting to get married. It robbed me of whether or not I might have children,\u201d she continued. \u201cWorst, it robbed me of the last year with [my grandmother].\u201d<\/p>\n

On this particular day in her life, Whitfield\u2019s self-care involved getting eyelash extensions ahead of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Brynn noted that she\u2019s felt \u201clike a liar\u201d for the past year.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time that people ask me why I\u2019m single<\/a>, I smile and I say, \u2018Oh there\u2019s not enough billionaires in the world\u2019 or \u2018I\u2019ve dated them all,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s like a knife that keeps going in and I just feel like I\u2019m f\u2014ing lying and I want to feel better because it\u2019s not going away and I\u2019m running out of time.\u201d<\/p>\n
