We hope this female forward trend will continue in 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2024,\u00a0THE\u00a0SUBSTANCE\u00a0picked up awards for\u00a0Best\u00a0Director\u00a0and Best\u00a0Original\u00a0Screenplay for Coralie Fargeat, who also tied for Best Female Director and Best Female Screenwriter in the Female Focus categories. CONCLAVE\u00a0captured three awards, including Best\u00a0Adapted\u00a0Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress for Isabella Rossellini and Best Ensemble Cast\/Casting Director. (AWFJ) is a not-for-profit professional association of highly qualified female movie critics, reporters and feature writers working in print, broadcast and online media, dedicated to supporting <a href=\"https:\/\/giaonthemove.com\/2024\/02\/26\/less-than-1-in-6-movies-to-be-directed-by-women-in-2024\/\">work by and about women <\/a>\u2013 both in front of and behind the cameras \u2013 through intra-group promotional activities, outreach programs and by presenting awards in recognition of outstanding accomplishments\u00a0(the best and worst) by and about women in the movies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>AWFJ was founded in 2006 by Jennifer Merin, Maitland McDonagh, Joanna Langfield and Jenny Halper.\u00a0In addition to the\u00a0year end\u00a0awards, AWFJ presents EDA Awards at partner festivals,\u00a0keeps an active and\u00a0interactive record of fiction feature and documentary films by and\/or about women, and\/or are of particular interest to women because they focus on women\u2019s issues.
