The ongoing Pacific Palisades wildfires<\/a> can be especially difficult for individuals like Miley Cyrus<\/strong><\/a>, who previously lost property in similar natural disasters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis image hits me hard in the heart today. This is a photo taken of my front porch in 2018 after losing our house in the Woolsey fires,\u201d Cyrus, 32, wrote in a social media message<\/a> on Saturday, January 11, sharing a picture of the rubble. \u201cIt\u2019s a feeling you don\u2019t ever forget. Walking up to the door you would pass through daily, looking forward to being greeted by the ones you love like you always do but instead being met by a pile of ash and rubble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyrus continued, \u201cMy soul aches for those who are experiencing this devestation [sic] firsthand and I cry for my city. It\u2019s beyond heartbreaking. Los Angeles represents \u2018living the dream\u2019 but the reality today is wreckage and destruction.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner also shared a link<\/a> to the Malibu Foundation, a nonprofit that helps victims rebuild after wildfires, and a handful of other GoFundMe campaigns for specific victims.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAs wildfires continue to spread across the Los Angeles area, several celebrities are taking to social media to share how they have been affected. \u201cEvacuated and safe with kids, dog and cats. Praying and grateful for the first responders,\u201d Mandy Moore wrote in a Wednesday, January 8, Instagram Story statement. In a follow-up post, she [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cTime, resources and dedication from inside and outside of our community will heal us, but it hurts deeply for now,\u201d Cyrus concluded her Saturday note.<\/p>\n

A string of wildfires broke out in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, rapidly devastating thousands of acres of property across surrounding neighborhoods. Many celebrities and other residents have lost their homes to the blaze. Others, meanwhile, left the city limits<\/a> following mandatory or voluntary evacuation orders.<\/p>\n

It is not publicly known whether Cyrus\u2019 current residence was affected by the ongoing natural disaster, but one of her previous houses was burnt to the ground in a 2018 fire. At the time, Cyrus was married to actor Liam Hemsworth<\/strong>. (Cyrus and Hemsworth, 34, split in 2019, finalizing their divorce the next year.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what\u2019s left of my house. Love,\u201d Hemsworth wrote via Instagram<\/a> in November 2018, sharing an image of their front porch and a \u201cLove\u201d sign. \u201cMany people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued at the time, \u201cMalibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger. Thankful for all the great local guys [who] helped keep smaller fires out around my property. I love u guys. I love you, Malibu. Thank you to all the hero firefighters around California.\u201d<\/p>\n

An extreme wind storm, caused by Santa Ana gusts, sparked fast-burning brush fires at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, with drivers along Sunset Boulevard and Palisades Drive abandoning their cars to seek safety, according to the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cyrus and Hemsworth had evacuated with their menagerie of pets.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy brother Luke<\/strong> called and said, \u2018Get ready, they\u2019re going to issue an evacuation.\u2019 The whole time that I was packing up these animals, I had moments where I\u2019m like, \u2018It\u2019s not going to get this far; this is a waste of time, and my house isn\u2019t going to burn down,\u2019\u201d Hemsworth recalled to Men\u2019s Health <\/i><\/a>in a 2020 profile. \u201cAnd, of course, it did burn down, and it was a s\u2014-y thing to live through.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the then-couple and their animals were all safe, he added to the outlet that \u201cpretty much everything\u201d left in the house<\/a> was \u201creplaceable to a point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three years later, Cyrus appeared to reference<\/a> their relationship and the fire in her Grammy-winning 2023 single, \u201cFlowers.\u201d<\/p>\n
