Contract negotiations are a hot topic, especially when Barstool Sports personalities are involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cBussin\u2019 With the Boys\u201d podcast hosts Will Compton<\/strong> and Taylor Lewan<\/strong> confirmed on Tuesday, January 21, that they are officially parting ways with Barstool after five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat pulled us away from Barstool was that we had a massive offer,\u201d Compton told listeners<\/a>. \u201cUltimately, an offer that we could not say no to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors about Compton and Lewan\u2019s future with Barstool started swirling earlier this month when it was revealed that the duo were in the middle of negotiating a new deal with Barstool. It was suggested that this might have hurt their chances<\/a> on Surviving Barstool<\/em> season 4, which was ultimately won by Ria Ciuffo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Grace O\u2019Malley announced her departure from the company in December 2024 after a friendship breakup from longtime bestie Brianna \u201cChickenfry\u201d LaPaglia (more about that, here) and has since spilled the tea on what [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cRight now, the \u2018Bussin\u2019 With the Boys\u2019 crew is in a negotiation for a bag on the next contract,\u201d Compton shared during his Surviving Barstool<\/em><\/a> confessional on January 7. \u201cYou gotta think, if you\u2019re Dave [Portnoy]<\/strong> and Dan [\u201cBig Cat\u201d Katz]<\/strong>, you can\u2019t have the \u2018Bussin With the Boys\u2019 guys running wild, winning $250K.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former football player, who won season 3 in 2024, was voted off the show shortly after his cohost, Lewan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning a quarter of a million dollars and then potentially throwing the deuces to us at the end of the year,\u201d Compton continued. \u201cSo, my hat goes off. Tip of the cap. Dave, Big Cat, great game boys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Compton, a former NFL linebacker, signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2018 for one year before signing with the New Orleans Saints in 2019 and later the Las Vegas Raiders. He went back to the Titans for a second stint in 2020 before returning to the Raiders in late 2021. By September 2023, Compton announced his retirement<\/a> from professional football.<\/p>\n

Lewan, meanwhile, was drafted as a tackle for the Titans in 2014 and remained with the organization for the duration of his career, which came to an end in 2023 after being out for the 2022 season with a knee injury.<\/p>\n

When Did \u2018Bussin\u2019 With the Boys\u2019 Join Barstool?<\/h3>\n

Compton and Lewan launched the podcast in 2019, and joined the Barstool Sports network shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n

Is \u2018Bussin\u2019 With The Boys\u2019 Renewing Their Barstool Sports Contract?<\/h3>\n

The duo confirmed during the January 21 episode of \u201cBussin\u2019 With the Boys\u201d that they are going independent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a contract to fulfill with Barstool until [the] Super Bowl and that\u2019s one thing we plan to do is bust our ass all the way through the Super Bowl for Barstool,\u201d Compton said. \u201cIt\u2019s not fair to our sponsors to talk about what we\u2019re doing or what our next steps are and who it\u2019s with. At the end of the day, we are going independent. We\u2019ll be exclusive with sponsors but not exclusive to a network. Ultimately, we are independent. We can collab with whoever we want to and we have creative freedom [and] creative control, which is exactly where \u2018Bussin\u2019 With the Boys\u2019 wanted to be from the very beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Compton first expressed on Surviving Barstool<\/em> that the \u201cBussin\u2019 With the Boys\u201d cohosts were in the middle of contract negotiations before Big Cat confirmed the former NFL star\u2019s speculation.<\/p>\n

\u201cDave and I didn\u2019t want Taylor or Will to win $250,000 cash on Barstool\u2019s networks and then be, like, \u2018Oh, by the way we\u2019re leaving for a competitor,\u2019 two seconds later,\u201d Big Cat said during a January 2025 episode of the competition series.<\/p>\n

Portnoy spoke further about this during an episode of \u201cThe Unnamed Podcast\u201d<\/a> that same month.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the time of filming [Surviving Barstool] I thought we were going to resign them, but going in, I knew that they were evaluating,\u201d the Barstool Sports founder noted. \u201cThey had an offer. They were like, \u2018We\u2019re going to look at the world, see what it is.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy \u201cdid not want\u201d to hand one of them $250,000 from the game win and have them leave the company. When asked during the same podcast episode if Compton and Lewan were leaving the company, Portnoy played coy. \u201cI\u2019m gonna let them handle it how they want to handle it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

During the\u00a0Surviving Barstool\u00a0<\/em>finale in January 2025, the question remained unanswered.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we played that game, I thought they were coming back to Barstool,\u201d Portnoy said. (Surviving Barstool\u00a0<\/em>was filmed in September 2024. The contestants returned for a live finale and reunion<\/a> in January 2025.)<\/p>\n

Compton hinted that \u201cthere\u2019s negotiating still happening\u201d with the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018Bussin\u2019 future with us has nothing to do with this show,\u201d Portnoy clarified.\u00a0As of now, \u201cBussin\u2019 With the Boys\u201d podcast<\/a> episodes are still being released under the Barstool name.<\/p>\n

How Much Money Do the \u2018Bussin\u2019 With the Boys\u2019 Podcast Hosts Make?<\/h3>\n

Compton spoke about the deals he and Lewan made with Barstool during an April 2024 episode of the \u201cNext Up With Adam\u201d podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n
