It appears that Kanye West<\/strong><\/a> might be ready to finally quash the long-held bad blood with Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 and it all started with a single social media move.<\/p>\n

As of Saturday, February 1, West, 47, is now following Swift, 35, on Instagram<\/a>. He also shared a screenshot of his \u201cFollowing\u201d list on his Instagram Stories, noting that Swift is the only one included. (As of Sunday, February 2, West also started following a private account named \u201ceylulrhyme.\u201d)<\/p>\n

He later took to the platform to celebrate his 2025 Grammy<\/a> nomination \u2014 also leaving a Swift-themed Easter egg.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to the Grammies [sic] for nominating \u2018Carnival,\u2019\u201d West captioned<\/a> a photo of the Grammy trophy, tagging the likes of Swift, Ty Dolla Sign, Playboi Carti, Rich the Kid<\/strong> and the Recording Academy.<\/p>\n

West\u2019s \u201cCarnival\u201d is up for \u201cBest Rap Song\u201d at Sunday\u2019s awards show, while Swift scored five nods<\/a> for her album The Tortured Poets Department <\/i>and an additional nomination<\/a> for her and Gracie Abrams<\/strong>\u2019 duet, \u201cus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift and West go way back to 2009 when the rapper interrupted her MTV Video Music Awards acceptance speech<\/a>, proclaiming that Beyonc\u00e9 should have taken home the trophy instead. Swift later issued a call for peace in Speak Now\u2019s <\/i>\u201cInnocent\u201d before West mentioned her by name in \u201cFamous,\u201d citing, \u201cI feel like me and Taylor might still have sex \/ I made that bitch famous.\u201d<\/p>\n

West had claimed that Swift gave him permission to include the vulgar lyric, which she repeatedly vehemently denied. West\u2019s then-wife, Kim Kardashian<\/strong>, subsequently released footage of an alleged phone call<\/a> between the two Grammy winners that corroborated West\u2019s version of events. It has since come to light that the call was edited.<\/p>\n

While speaking to TIME <\/i>in 2023, Swift referred to the scandal as a \u201ccareer death.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMake no mistake \u2014 my career was taken away from me,\u201d the \u201cFortnight\u201d singer recalled to the outlet in a December 2023 profile. \u201cYou have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift continued, \u201cThat took me down psychologically to a place I\u2019ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn\u2019t leave a rental house for a year.
