Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino shared his thoughts into the future of stablecoins and the impact of new legislation from the White House.<\/p>\n

Ardoino stated during a Bloomberg TV interview on Thursday that the Trump administration\u2019s recently proposed stablecoin bill<\/a> can provide regulatory clarity and would benefit the role of digital U.S. dollars.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThis bill would unlock very much clarity on the stablecoin role for the future of the U.S. dollar and how we should be managed in a very safe and serious way,\u201d Ardoino explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He emphasized that Tether\u2019s<\/a> growth has been remarkable, particularly in emerging markets and developing countries, where the company sees around 40 million new wallets added each quarter.<\/p>\n

Partnership with Cantor Fitzgerald<\/h2>\n

Ardoino also discussed Tether\u2019s strategic partnership with Cantor Fitzgerald.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur relationship with Cantor is strong and we are grateful to the fact that they onboarded us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He explained that Cantor conducted thorough due diligence on Tether before deciding to allow them to hold U.S. Treasury bills.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe past administration in the United States just tried to almost kill crypto,\u201d Ardoino added, highlighting the importance of Cantor\u2019s trust and partnership. This relationship reinforces Tether\u2019s credibility within the traditional financial sector, signaling a shift toward broader acceptance of stablecoins in mainstream finance.<\/p>\n

Why Tether is not based in the U.S.<\/h2>\n

When asked why Tether is not based in the U.S., Ardoino pointed to the global demand for U.S. dollars. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you go outside the U.S. and you make a dozen people in the street and you ask them, \u2018Would you prefer to hold the U.S. dollar or your national currency?\u2019 they will all choose the dollar,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He further explained that there are 3 billion people \u201cnot having access to traditional systems\u201d and are \u201cdesperate\u201d to have easy access to the dollar. Tether has strategically positioned itself to meet this demand, contributing to the strength of the dollar abroad while providing financial solutions to underserved populations.<\/p>\n

Stablecoins and global influence<\/h2>\n

Ardoino also discussed the geopolitical importance of stablecoins and how it can positively impact the greenback.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are building infrastructure in emerging markets, and I believe these are the last strongholds of support for the U.S. dollar,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This reflects Tether\u2019s strategic positioning to strengthen the dollar\u2019s global presence while addressing financial accessibility challenges in underserved markets.<\/p>\n
