Tina Knowles<\/a> <\/strong>is more than a conqueror<\/em>, and officially a New York Times Bestseller <\/a><\/strong><\/em>with her autobiography book \u201cMatriarch<\/a>\u201d which she discussed alongside First Lady, Michelle Obama<\/strong> yesterday evening at MGM National Harbor Theater in Washington, DC. <\/p>\n

To kick off her book tour in the most fashionable way, Tina arrived with her southern charm on full display in a Tony Ward <\/strong>gown. With an asymmetrical silhouette and a two-tone design, Tina\u2019s dress featured a solid black fabric on one side, and a rhinestone embellished fabric on the opposite. She accessorized with long black sheer gloves, a diamond bracelet and statement earrings, showcasing her enduring passion for fashion.<\/p>\n

Michelle Obama <\/strong>also showed up with her A-game to host the discussion in a black Alexander Mcqueen suit that had satin lapels and reigned supreme. She kept things monochromatic with black stiletto pumps, and offered a youthful element with silver rings, and bold modern earrings.<\/p>\n

Obama\u2019s long micro braids were styled into a high fishtail braid for a playful and unexpected finish to an elegant ensemble. On our Instagram page, @pursiaofficial wrote, \u201cThat suit is Tailored honey! I want to be like her when I grow up lol.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n

Tina was transparent, and opened up to Michelle Obama about the up\u2019s and downs of her life journey, and how she was able to pivot and become the powerful matriarch that she is today. <\/p>\n

In a caption posted to her Instagram page, Tina shared \u201cI have always been a storyteller, and it\u2019s something I learned from my mother. When I had a family of my own, I believed that my daughters needed to know where they came from in order to know where they were going. I\u2019m now ready to share my story with all of you, so that we can all celebrate these themes of strength, motherhood, Black pride, and identity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

For a light moment to end the evening, the duo did the \u201cBoots On The Ground<\/em>\u201d dance on stage, showcasing their smooth dance moves as virtual guests like Beyonce<\/strong><\/em>, Solange<\/strong><\/em>, Kelly Rowland <\/strong>and Oprah Winfrey<\/strong> congratulated and cheered them on. <\/p>\n
