The Lord is pressing deeply on my heart as I reflect on the parable of the ten bridesmaids from Matthew 25, and I’m struck by its deep relevance to our lives today. Five were wise. Five were foolish. The difference? Preparation. Readiness. Oil in their lamps.<\/span><\/p>\n In this episode on The Alita Reynolds Show, I share why this parable is one of my favorites, not just because of its symbolism but because it challenges us to <\/span>live wisely<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>lead wisely<\/span><\/i><\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Life Leadership is one of our core pillars at Women of Faith — and it means being an example that points others to Jesus. It’s about being proactive, Spirit-filled, and ready to respond when God moves.<\/span><\/p>\n The wise bridesmaids in Matthew 25 were prepared. They weren’t scrambling at the last minute like their foolish counterparts. They had their oil — their personal relationship with the Lord, their faith, their readiness . The parable makes a point of showing that the foolish bridesmaids could not just borrow some oil from the wise bridesmaids. When the foolish ones finally went to buy more, the Bridegroom arrived, the doors were shut, and they could not take part in the wedding feast.<\/span><\/p>\n You can’t borrow oil. You can’t borrow someone else’s anointing, passion, or intimacy with Christ. You must cultivate your own.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n I encourage you to ask: <\/span>Am I prepared? Do I have my oil?<\/span><\/i> The people you surround yourself with matter. Walk with the wise — those seeking, growing, watching, and ready.
