\n<\/p>\n

We all know the secular world opposes the very idea of a person
\nwith same-sex attraction seeking any kind of therapy or spiritual
\ncounsel that might enable them to reach a state of healthy
\nrelations with the opposite sex. But what\u2019s odd is that many
\nCatholics seem to have bought into this. Many assume that if
\nsomeone is not currently attracted to the opposite sex, this is a
\nstatic, lifelong condition and therefore they must be called to
\ncelibacy. But this view involves multiple misunderstandings \u2013 of
\nthe SSA experience, of anthropology, of the power of God\u2019s grace,
\nand of the good of celibacy itself.<\/p>\n
Today\u2019s guests know otherwise because they both have a
\nbackground with same-sex attraction, and yet are each now married
\nwith children. Andrew Comiskey and Marco Casanova run Desert Stream
\nand Living Waters Ministries, which for decades have offered help
\nto Christians seeking healing from sexual disorders (including but
\nnot limited to SSA). This conversation offers solid, spiritually
\nand psychologically sound, experience-based answers to some
\ndisputed questions about how the Church should be pastoring those
\nwith same-sex attraction.<\/p>\n
It’s not about \u201cconversion therapy\u201d. It\u2019s about conversion in
\nthe Catholic sense \u2013 one day at a time.<\/p>\n
–Can we really put a ceiling on God\u2019s ability to heal us
\npsychologically?<\/p>\n
–Does any attempt at such healing amount to the secular bugbear
\nof \u201cconversion therapy\u201d?<\/p>\n
–What does life look like for a person with a \u201cgay\u201d past who is
\nnow married to the opposite sex?<\/p>\n
–Is it legitimate for Christians to embrace a gay identity as
\nlong as they don\u2019t act out sexually?<\/p>\n
–Is there such a thing as a chaste same-sex romantic
\nrelationship?<\/p>\n
