We have more pieces of music by Hildegard than by any other<br \/>\nmedieval composer whose name we know. Her chants are beautiful,<br \/>\notherworldly, virtuosic and ahead of their time. Some of them were<br \/>\nwritten for her morality play, the <em>Ordo virtutum<\/em>, which is<br \/>\nalso the first of its kind.
