Eclectic Full Contact Theater Company\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is currently accepting submissions of\u00a0New One-Act Plays<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0that embody this years theme of:\u00a0Alienation.<\/strong><\/em> Nine finalists<\/strong>\u00a0will have their\u00a0play produced<\/strong>\u00a0in the Patchwork Play Festival at The Edge Theater<\/strong>, 5451 N Broadway, Chicago, IL. from Feb. 26, 2027 \u2013 March 7, 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u200bDeadline for Patchwork Play Festival submissions is Oct. 31, 2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A\u00a0$250 Award<\/strong>\u00a0will be presented for\u00a0best production<\/strong>.\u00a0(Adjudicated by a panel of Chicago Theater professionals.\u00a0
\u200bA\u00a0$250 Audience Award<\/strong>\u00a0will also be presented to the\u00a0festival favorite<\/strong>. (Determined by our audiences).<\/p>\n

Patchwork Play Festival Submission Requirements:\u200b<\/strong><\/h6>\n
    \n
  1. Play must be previously unproduced. (Staged Readings are fine)<\/li>\n
  2. Play length not to exceed 30 minutes.<\/li>\n
  3. Play must reflect the yearly theme.\u00a0 This years theme is: Alienation<\/li>\n
  4. Play must be received by October 31, 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Playwrights cannot submit more than 2 scripts per year for Patchwork.\u00a0 If more than 2 scripts are submitted by the same playwright, 2 will be picked at random. Only one play per playwright may be featured per Patchwork Play Festival per season.<\/li>\n
  6. Scripts cannot contain copyrighted music unless the playwright owns the music\u2019s copyright, or has written permission from the music\u2019s copyright owner.<\/li>\n
  7. They are not accepting musicals at this time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Eclectic Full Contact Theatre\u2019s Mission <\/h6>\n

    Eclectic Full Contact Theatre was formed in 2011 with a dual purpose: <\/p>\n

    Bring visceral and engaging entertainment to a wide-ranging and diverse audience irrespective of style, subject, medium, or period. (\u201cEclectic\u201d)
    Foster a greater connection to, and understanding of, theatre in our audiences through providing them access to the behind-the-scenes workings of putting on a show through both in-person (attending read-thrus and specific rehearsals) and online (videos\/photos of rehearsals as well as construction and tech) means (\u201cFull Contact\u201d)

    Since its inception, EFCT has expanded on those two driving forces, increasing the scope of its productions through festivals highlighting not only standard one-act plays, but also live Foley and Theatre for Young Audiences as well as developing an entire audio production wing with two currently running audio drama podcasts. We have sought to expand the scope of our offerings by actively seeking out and developing relationships with     women<\/a>, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ writers, directors, designers, and actors.<\/p>\n
