With Week 3 in the rearview, we’re officially already one-fourth of the way through the college football\u00a0<\/a>regular season.<\/p>\n During the early portion of the schedule, some players have begun to emerge in the Heisman field. After previously previewing the race in the preseason<\/a> and following Week 1<\/a>, we’re back with another look at the state of the race.<\/p>\n Amid all the hoopla surrounding Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford, Associated Press No. 8 Ole Miss’s massive 32-24 home win over the No. 7 LSU Tigers\u00a0<\/a>came down to one simple fact. One team had Chambliss, and the other didn’t.<\/p>\n The sixth-year starter showed all the poise one would expect of a seasoned vet while dicing up a previously stout LSU defense in the first half, when he was 21-of-27 for 248 yards and two touchdowns, including a perfect 8-of-8 on third downs.<\/p>\n Chambliss cooled off in the second half but still managed some highlight-reel plays, including a wild backhanded toss for a 19-yard gain and the winning score on a 14-yard rushing touchdown.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
