We thank Tony for his contributions over the past nine years and wish him the best moving forward,&#8221; a statement from CBS reads in part.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\"><strong><em>Related video above | Tony Romo pleads no contest to OWI after Milwaukee arrest<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was arrested in Milwaukee on July 23 after a traffic stop. Court records showed that one of the arresting officers said he detected a \u201cstrong odor of an alcoholic beverage\u201d on Romo.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">Romo pleaded no contest, and issued a statement apologizing for his actions.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"7\">According to Milwaukee County court records, Romo lost his driving privileges for six months and was ordered to complete an alcohol assessment program.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">Romo also owes $834. An interlock device must be installed on any vehicle owned or operated by Romo or registered to his name, and that order will remain in effect for at least one year after he is issued a license.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"9\">\u201cThe past month has been difficult, but it has also been personally significant,\u201d Romo said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dcv-NrGxv-b\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" rel=\"nofollow\">statement on Instagram.<\/a> \u201cIt has required me to confront and own my mistakes fully \u2014 to the Lord, to myself, to my family and now to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"10\">Romo said the multiple back surgeries that led to his retirement as a player \u201cleft me with constant, debilitating pain.\u201d He noted that the pain \u201cled to a dependence on pain medication, and my efforts to get off those medications led to an over-reliance on alcohol.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"11\">\u201cNone of this is an excuse,\u201d Romo said. \u201cThese are my failures and I take responsibility for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"12\">CBS Sports coverage moving forward will not be impacted, the network said, adding, &#8220;JJ Watt will continue to partner with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on our lead NFL announce team for the rest of the season.
