HAMPTON, N.H. —
The annual Hampton Beach Sand Sculpting Classic welcomed a special visitor on Friday.
Boston Red Sox mascot Wally stopped by to see the sand sculptures coming together. He took photos with other visitors to the competition and got a close look at the sculptures.

Voting on the people’s choice award will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.
This year’s theme is “Sand Wars—May the Beach Be With You.”
The sculptures will be on display through Wednesday.
