“Dimebag” Darrell Abbott was tragically shot on stage on December 8, 2004 at the Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, OH during a Damageplan show. The gunman also killed a fan in attendance named Nathan Bray, Damageplan head of security Jeffrey “Mayhem” Thompson, and an employee name Erin Halk who tried to disarm the gunman as he was reloading. Three others were wounded in the shooting. It was nothing short of a tragic night for all those in attendance, their families, and the music world.
All that feels like a weird lead-in to say that someone is selling a ticket to that ill-fated December 8, 2004 show on eBay for $15,000. There’s always a market for the macabre, though $15,000 might be too steep a price tag. Loudwire points out that a graded ticket to Prince’s final show is up for $2,500 right now (with zero bids) and a ticket to Queen’s final show with Freddie Mercury is going for $999.
If you’ve got $15,000 to spare, you can buy the ticket here.
The Alrosa Villa was demolished in 2021. The land where the club previously stood was set to become 180 affordable apartment units consisting of three- and four-story buildings providing one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments. The property was sold for $1.3 million and the city plans to contribute a total of $4.35 million to the project over the next two years. You can watch a few videos of the club’s final days (and now empty lot) below.
