Progressive stoner/prog-rock metal fans – I’m one of those – now have something exciting to look forward to. Elder‘s 2023 performance at Maida Vale Studios for BBC Radio 1’s ‘Rock Show With Daniel P Carter’ is set for a vinyl and CD release on August 30th, courtesy of Stickman Records.
The special session, recorded in London, England, on August 16th last year, with Elder performing three standout tracks: “Merged In Dreams – Nu Plus Ultra,” “Lore,” and “Thousand Hands,” the latter of which can be streamed below.
“Last year while on tour in Europe, we had the fortune to be invited by the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show (thanks Daniel Carter!) to record a live session at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios,” shared the band. “We recorded a few tracks from the live set we had been playing at that time and were very happy with the results – a very ‘live’ sounding version of the tracks, which can be sometimes a bit ambitious to pull off live. Most folks missed the radio broadcast, so we figured we’d put it to vinyl and CD as well.”
“The LP version is available in two colors: tricolor green/black marbled vinyl (limited to 1000 pcs and exclusively available at the Stickman Records webstore) and standard solid red. The LP comes with a full-size fold-out poster and download code! Thank you to Adam Hill for his beautiful work on the packaging and his futuristic re-imagining of Maida Vale Studios.”
