Cancer Christ vocalist Anthony Mehlhaff was arrested on Wednesday following an eventful few hours that saw the musician allegedly engage in a series of dangerous and concerning acts. When he was arrested, the 40-year old singer was charged with vandalism, vehicle theft, reckless driving, kidnapping, theft, first-degree burglary, robbery, obstructing an officer and battery.

According to a report in Los Angeles Times, Mehlhaff first began in Buck Meadows, an area in nearby Mariposa County. He allegedly touched the stomach of a pregnant waitress, telling her that “The spirits led me to you and your baby belongs to me,” among other comments.

After that, according to Mariposa County sheriff Jeremy Briese, “Mehlhaff then stole several drinks, assaulted another employee of the restaurant and sped off in his vehicle towards Yosemite National Park,” where he stripped to his underwear and attempted to kidnap a store manager. Following that, he allegedly stole the manager’s car, rammed another vehicle and later crashed, which led to his arrest. While being checked out at a local hospital, Mehlhaff then allegedly assaulted deputies.

“This man drove all around our county terrorizing our visitors and community members,” Briese said later in a statement. “I am extremely happy that no one was seriously injured. This man’s behavior was erratic and dangerous.”

As of Friday, the singer was still being held on $100,000 bail and Cancer Christ had been removed from their upcoming tour with GWAR, presumably as a result. Cancer Christ guitarist Tommy Meehan recently joined GWAR as a live member. The future of Cancer Christ is currently unclear.
