Ex-Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno is now streaming his new version of the Iron Maiden classic “Wrathchild”. The cover features vocalist ZP Theart (ex-DragonForce), drummer Russell Gilbrook (Uriah Heep) and guitarist Cliff Evans (Tank), and feels like more of a modern throwback take on the single you’d hear at a bar or something.
“I’m loving this version of ‘Wrathchild’ and working on the vocals with ZP Theart really brought a lot of new energy into the song,” said Di’Anno.
“‘Wrathchild’ is still in the setlist at all my live shows. I love singing it and the fans still go crazy for it every night. As well as having ZP from DragonForce/Skid Row joining me on vocals, I brought in Russell Gilbrook from Uriah Heep on drums and Cliff Evans from Tank on guitar. What a band.”
Di’Anno will release his new record The Book Of The Beast on September 27 via Conquest Music. The record features Di’Anno‘s Battlezone and Killers‘ material, as well as covers of Iron Maiden‘s “Remember Tomorrow” and “Wrathchild” with Tony Martin (Black Sabbath), ZP Theart, and Lidya Balaban (Crowley). Pre-orders are available here.
