It appears 23XI Racing has found the future of its organization in Corey Heim.
On Sunday, the team announced that Heim has officially been signed by 23XI as a development driver, with Heim slated to make multiple Cup and Xfinity Series starts in 2025. Heim’s first Cup Series start of 2025 will come at Kansas Speedway, and his Xfinity Series starts will come with Sam Hunt Racing in a 23XI-supported Toyota Supra.
Heim is one of the brightest prospects in NASCAR at the moment and is the favorite to win the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship. He has won 12 Xfinity Series races over the last four seasons, including the 2025 season opener at Daytona.
Heim made three Cup Series starts in 2024, including one with 23XI Racing at Nashville Superspeedway on June 30.
At World Wide Technology Raceway in June 2024, Heim and 23XI racing co-owner Denny Hamlin spoke to Yardbarker regarding their mutual respect.
“A lot of people know that growing up, Denny was my idol,” Heim said following his victory in the Truck Series race at Gateway on June 2. “It means the world to have grown up idolizing him, never knowing if I would make it to this level, but here I am and I’ve got him as one of my best supporters so far.”
“I certainly think (Corey Heim) is wise beyond his age,” Hamlin said when asked about Heim’s potential at World Wide Technology Raceway in June 2024. “To be just 21 years old, it’s amazing when you watch him race. He certainly has a bright future in our sport long term.”
While 23XI currently has three very capable Cup Series drivers in Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace and Riley Herbst, Heim could be the long-term future for a team still looking to assert itself as a perennial Cup Series contender.
