Four-time Super Bowl champion Terry Bradshaw has announced that he is now cancer-free after receiving two separate cancer diagnoses in 2022.

The 78-year-old two-time Super Bowl MVP gave his health update in a recent interview with “Good Morning America” co-host Michael Strahan to promote his new memoir and talked about both his double cancer diagnosis in 2022 and his struggles with mental health and depression.

Bradshaw was diagnosed with bladder cancer in November 2021 and had a tumor in his neck from a rare form of skin cancer in March 2022.

“You’ve been through a lot, two types of cancer, but you’re good now?” Strahan asked.

“Yes, I am. I’m cancer-free, Mike,” Bradshaw said.

The two co-hosts of “FOX NFL Sunday” also discussed Bradshaw’s struggles with depression, with Bradshaw highlighting why it was particularly tough for him.

“Men are the worst about knowing they have a problem, not wanting to seek they have a problem because they don’t want anybody to know they have a weakness,” Bradshaw said when asked about his own struggles with depression. “And as a football player, it’s even worse, the macho thing.”

Bradshaw emphasized how difficult a journey it can be for someone to find the right help for them.

“It took me three different doctors, three progressions, to finally get to the point where they diagnosed me clinically depressed,” Bradshaw said. “The key to it for me was No. 1: acknowledging I had a problem; No. 2: accepting that it was depression; and then No. 3: working my life to try to do everything I can to not bring it up because it’s an ugly little monster.”

Bradshaw finished with a message to all men going through similar struggles:

“I just want men to know: You got to seek help. It’s an ugly monster,” Bradshaw said.

This call to action is joined by comments the longtime sports correspondent made in a separate interview with “NBC News Daily” on the future of his broadcasting career.

“I realize my time on television as a sports broadcaster is coming to an end,” Bradshaw said. “I just love life. Billy Graham said, and I never forgot this quote, he said, ‘The day you retire is the day you start dying.'”

He added, “I’m a workaholic; I love to work,” before he said he knew he was nearing the end of his broadcasting career.
