Today would’ve been founding Avenged Sevenfold drummer James “The Rev” Sullivan‘s 43rd birthday, and Drumeo is celebrating with a fantastic look at the man’s otherworldly drums. Avenged Sevenfold approves of the extensive documentary as well, noting on their Twitter “Instead of a picture on Jimmy’s birthday, let’s celebrate by watching this new video from Drumeo.”
“Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan is one of the most legendary drummers in history,” added Drumeo. “As the drummer and founding member of Avenged Sevenfold, he solidified his place as metal drumming royalty. Join Brandon Toews as he dives deep into what made The Rev such an incredible musician.”
The Rev passed away on December 28, 2009 and drummed on the first four Avenged Sevenfold records. Dude was an absolute beast behind the kit, and I mean… what else is there to say? Highlights include everything the guy ever did, though City Of Evil is flat out bonkers in terms of The Rev‘s writing and proficiency.
