Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign released their collaborative album Vultures today and Ozzy Osbourne is plenty pissed off about the listening party. According to a tweet by Osbourne (or someone in Osbourne‘s camp), West used a sample of a live version of Black Sabbath‘s “Iron Man” during last night’s listening party despite being denied prior. Osbourne then blasts West for being an antisemite and notes that he wants “no association” with West at all.
“[Kanye West] ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF ‘IRON MAN’ FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY,” wrote Osbourne. “HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT. I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!”
Vultures has previously come under fire for the Vultures album using a 1835 painting by German artist Caspar David Friedrich, which references of Burzum‘s album Filosofem. West has also embraced Burzum mastermind Varg Vikernes in recent months, which again – antisemites sure love them some antisemites. Especially ones that describe themselves as such.
Anyway, a bunch of actually good shit came out today that isn’t this garbage.
